dc.description	This research analyzes China’s geoeconomic deployment through the development of the Chancay port in Peru, examining its geopolitical implications in the South Pacific and the resulting challenges for Ecuador's national security. It addresses how this mega-hub reconfigures the regional port hierarchy, subjecting Ecuadorian ports to an imminent risk of logistical peripherization and operational dependence as secondary ports. In response to this asymmetric competitiveness, strategic opportunities are identified through the specialization of cargo flows with flagship products and the development of special economic development zones. Under this rationale, the study adopted a qualitative methodological approach with a predominance of documentary analysis, which enabled the location of historical archives, texts, bibliographies, and relevant reports necessary to answer the research question. Consequently, the findings reveal an urgent need for the country to reconfigure its national defense doctrine and port governance toward technological interoperability to confront the new security and defense challenges posed by Chancay.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	La presente investigación analiza el despliegue geoeconómico que genera China a través de la implementación del puerto de Chancay en Perú y sus implicaciones geopolíticas en el Pacífico sur y los desafíos que representa esta para la seguridad nacional del Ecuador. Se aborda como este mega hub reconfigura la jerarquía portuaria en la región, supeditando a los puertos ecuatorianos a un inminente riesgo de periferización logística y una dependencia operativa como puertos secundarios. Frente a esta competitividad asimétrica, se identifican oportunidades estratégicas mediante la especialización de flujos de carga con productos insignia y el desarrollo de zonas especiales de desarrollo económico. Bajo esta lógica, él estudio adoptó un enfoque metodológico cualitativo con la preminencia del análisis documental, esto permitió ubicar archivos históricos, textos, bibliografías e informes relevantes que ayudaron a obtener información necesaria para responder a la pregunta de investigación. Resultado de ello deviene en los hallazgos que hacen entrever la necesidad urgente del país en la reconfiguración de la doctrina de defensa nacional y la gobernanza portuaria hacia la interoperabilidad tecnológica afín de hacer frente a los nuevos desafíos que representa Chancay en temas de seguridad y defensa.	es_ES
