Resumen:
La investigación propone analizar la identidad asociada a la UNASUR como un elemento
legitimador que adquiere significado a través de la influencia de los Estados en el seno de la
UNASUR y la sociedad civil. Este análisis se aborda desde la perspectiva constructivista,
mediante la cual se busca identificar las ideas y temas que fueron objeto de cooperación
política que contribuyeron o no a la construcción de una identidad suramericana.
La metodología utilizada es el análisis de discurso. Para este efecto se analizaron dos
unidades de estudio, el Estado (Declaraciones de Jefes y Jefas de Estados) y la sociedad civil
(Foro de Participación Ciudadana) y el Tratado constitutivo de UNASUR (intereses).

The research proposes to analyze the identity associated with UNASUR as a legitimizing an
element that acquires meaning through the influence of agents (political decisión - making
countries within UNASUR and civil society). This analysis is approached from the
constructivist perspective, through which the mutual agent - structure interaction is sustained;
identity and interest within the framework of the structure at the UNASUR process
