Resumen:
El presente trabajo centra su abordaje en el seguimiento a la promesa voluntaria asumida por el Ecuador, en diciembre de 2015, ante la XXXII Conferencia Internacional de la Cruz Roja y Media Luna Roja, titulada: “Promesa sobre fortalecimiento de la protección e inclusión social de las personas refugiadas”. El trabajo consta de tres capítulos, en el primero, se realiza una revisión bibliográfica del marco teórico sobre el tema de la protección internacional de las personas y su vínculo con el derecho internacional humanitario y los derechos humanos; en el segundo, se presenta la normativa internacional y nacional que rige el tema de los refugiados; y en el tercer capítulo, una revisión de las medidas y acciones que el país ha desarrollado con el propósito de cumplir con este compromiso internacional.

This paper focuses its approach on the follow-up to the voluntary promise assumed by Ecuador, in December 2015, before the XXXII International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, entitled: "Promise on strengthening the protection and social inclusion of refugees”. The work consists of three chapters, in the first, a bibliographic review of the theoretical framework about international protection of persons and its link with international humanitarian law and human rights is carried out; in the second, the international and national regulations that govern the issue of refugees are presented; and in the third chapter, a review of the measures and actions that the country has developed in order to comply with this international commitment.
